How we handle the information you share with us. Last updated October 2026.
Who we are
Symbio Homes ("we", "us") is a home builder and developer based in Squamish, British Columbia. This policy covers symbiohomes.ca, our registration form and the emails we send. We follow British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
What we collect
- When you register or email us: your name, email address, the community you're interested in, whether you're a realtor or working with one, whether you'd like email updates, and anything else you choose to tell us.
- When you visit the site: our hosting provider processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver and protect the site. We count visits with a privacy-focused analytics tool that doesn't use cookies or identify you.
We don't collect payment details or government ID through this website.
Why we collect it
- To answer your questions and send you information you asked for, such as floor plans, pricing or a brochure.
- To send you Symbio Homes updates, only if you ticked the box to receive them.
- To understand how the site is used, so we can improve it.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We only use your information for these purposes, or for another purpose with your consent or where the law allows it.
Your consent
By submitting the form or emailing us, you agree to us using your information for the purposes above. We only send marketing emails if you give us express consent: the updates box is unticked by default. Every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also withdraw consent at any time by emailing hello@symbiohomes.ca.
Who we share it with
- Service providers who help us run the site and stay in touch with you, such as our website host, our form service and our email provider. They may only use your information to provide their services to us.
- Realtors and brokerages involved in a purchase, if you tell us you're working with one or ask us to connect you.
- Others where the law requires it, such as in response to a court order.
We don't sell or rent your personal information.
Where it's stored
Some of our service providers store information outside Canada, including in the United States. While it's there, it may be subject to the laws of that country, including lawful access by its authorities.
How long we keep it
We keep your registration while we're marketing the homes you're interested in, and for up to two years after, unless you ask us to delete it sooner or the law requires us to keep it longer. When we no longer need it, we delete it.
How we protect it
We use reasonable safeguards, including password-protected accounts and limiting access to people who need it, to protect your information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask how it has been used and shared, and ask us to correct it. Email hello@symbiohomes.ca with "Privacy" in the subject line. We'll respond within the time BC law requires.
