Squamish locals, building for the long run

As Squamish continues to grow, we believe new housing should do more than accommodate population change. It should strengthen community, support natural systems and fit the lifestyle that defines the Sea to Sky region. Symbio was created to pursue this vision through thoughtful development that balances performance, wellbeing and sense of place.

At the heart of our approach is regenerative living. We design homes to generate renewable energy, conserve water, support biodiversity and reduce long-term environmental impact through high-performance building envelopes.

Planned rooftop solar, rain barrels for the gardens, permeable pathways, airtight construction, pollinator-friendly planting, efficient mechanical systems and water-conscious fixtures work together, so each home performs responsibly while staying comfortable and durable.

Equally important is the human experience of living in these places. Symbio communities are shaped around connection and wellbeing, with shared gathering areas, natural play spaces for children, saunas and cold rinses, and room for residents to grow food and get outside.

These elements reflect a belief that neighbourhood design can influence how people feel, interact and belong.

Our homes are designed for the realities of everyday Sea to Sky life. Mountain modern architecture, open and functional layouts, dedicated storage for outdoor gear and practical features support recreation and daily routines.

Symbio exists to contribute positively to Squamish's future. Founded by locals with deep ties to the community, our work is driven by a passion to support growth while preserving the qualities that make this place special.

Before Symbio, our team built single-family homes and duplexes across Squamish, several of them to Step 4 of the BC Energy Step Code.

Through regenerative design and community-focused development, we create neighbourhoods that foster meaningful connections to one another, to nature and to the places people call home.

We're glad to be building alongside other Squamish builders who are raising the bar for what a new home can be. The more of us doing it, the better this town gets.
